Now that you've created a flowchart that includes sub-processes, there are two very important rules to remember:
- It is CRITICAL that you do not change any of the page names within your document IF they correspond to a sub-process within your document. If you do change a page name, the sub-process will no longer function, and your file will become damaged.
- If a page in your file does NOT correspond with a sub-process, ONLY THEN should you rename the page.
Of course, you may continue to work on your flowchart, both in SmartDraw and back in SmartDraw for Windows.
Working with Sub-Processes in SmartDraw
Creating sub-processes is not a function of SmartDraw; however, editing an uploaded file that includes sub-processes is no problem at all, as long as the first two rules are followed.
You may add everything but sub-processes to your uploaded file, and you'll see all changes reflected in your SmartDraw Windows file.
Working with Sub-Processes in SmartDraw for Windows after the Upload to SmartDraw
You will now notice that any changes you've made to your file in SmartDraw will be reflected in your SmartDraw Windows file. This feature works both ways- now that your file is uploaded to, any changes made in your Windows file will be reflected in SmartDraw.
The only difference between editing your file in SmartDraw for Windows vs. SmartDraw is the ability to create additional sub-processes. Just always remember the two rules above and you'll be an expert when it comes to sub-processes!
