When you create an Automatic Diagram (Flowchart, Org Chart, or Mind Map for example) in SmartDraw, there is little need to adjust your line spacing and alignment because we do it for you; however, we never want to limit your creativity, so we give you the flexibility to make manual adjustments to your lines as needed. Find out how, below!
If you would like to adjust the entire line segment, click on the line in your diagram, then click and drag the outermost black handle horizontally or vertically (depending on the layout of your diagram) to either reduce or enlarge its size.
You may also adjust the entire line segment of your diagram by increasing or decreasing the numbers in the Vertical and Horizontal Spacing Fields found in your SmartPanel.
If you would like to adjust one line segment, click on the line of your diagram, then click and drag the green circle of the segment horizontally or vertically to either reduce or enlarge its size.
If you would like to adjust the spacing between the originating line and the shapes on that line, click on the line of your diagram, then click and drag the black handle on the perimeter of the shape either horizontally or vertically to lengthen or shorten the space.
